Come and retreat in my tranquil therapy room in Zeekoevlei. You will be released and restored by your treatment, soothed by the water, enchanted by the bird calls, and nourished by the fresh air. The room is light and airy with a view of green vegetation through the glass. There is a bathroom for use, but no waiting area as of yet. The parking is safe and ample. It is a sanctuary of rejuvenation, for body and mind.
As you drive in, look out for the Eland (large antelope) that are being re-introduced into the Cape. I live right on the edge of the lake, with a jetty for mooring boats at the bottom of the lawn. While you lie cocooned in my safe therapy room, the waters of the lake will be cleansing your aura from three sides – the North, East and West. This is because I live in a cul-de-sac. There is abundant birdlife and some eland, otters, rooikat, tortoises and the all-important leopard toad living in the nature reserve. You hear the birds from the therapy room while you become still. The suburb itself is actually part of the nature reserve, so you can do yourself a lot of good by planning a bit of an excursion. Come for your treatment, then visit the close-by Rondevlei Nature Reserve (which forms part of the greater False Bay Nature Reserve), where you can enjoy any of the six uniquely built bird hides, or take your courage up the high viewing tower. Walk the Zeekoevlei Labyrinth (I did not have a hand in building it, it already existed when I arrived.) Treat yourself to white chocolate airballs from Nadia’s Patisserie (in my opinion her signature product) or try your luck at Cape Cacti (The owner likes to keep his own hours). Go for a meal in Tokai, Constantia, Lakeside or Muizenberg. Pay a visit to the Organic Zone supermarket in Lakeside on your way out. Do a drop-in yoga class at my Yoga Loft, or at one of the many yoga studio’s in Muizenberg, Marina de Gama, Meadowridge or Constantia. Booking your treatment on a Friday or Saturday afternoon? Why not stop in at the Zeekoevlei Yacht Club for a drink and to mingle with the locals on your way out.
